John Mooney founded M|C Communications, LLC in 1994 as an innovative conference and tradeshow management company whose primary strategic focus was on providing accredited continuing education to forums for licensed professions. The company’s first venture, Primary Medicine Today (Pri-Med), developed with Harvard Medical School, has evolved to become the nations leading series of conferences and exhibitions for primary care practitioners. Today M|C produces more than 180 medical programs through live, print, and online channels in the US, Mexico, UK, France, Germany, Ireland, Argentina, Brazil, Spain and Japan attracting over 250,000 healthcare professionals annually.
In addition to being the largest producer of Continuing Medical Education programs in the world, M|C Communications has also managed the American Institute of Architects National Convention & Design Expo for the past eleven years. The AIA convention attracts over 20,000 professionals and is a Tradeshow 200 event.
In 2004, John led the sale of M|C Communications to Bain Capital in what was one of the largest media transactions of the year. John continues to lead M|C as Chief Executive and is currently focused on expanding M|C globally.
Prior to founding M|C Communications, John spent ten years in both the publishing and trade show divisions of Reed Elsevier Publishing PLC.
