Paul Mackler

Mr. Mackler has spent 22 years in the B2B media industry. During his extensive career, Mr. Mackler held top positions in some of the country’s leading media businesses, and is known as an innovator, entrepreneur and successful business-builder.
In 2000, Mr. Mackler, backed by private-equity, acquired Cygnus Business Media, a leading diversified B2B media company with over $100 million in revenues. From 2000-2006, Mr. Mackler held the position of President & CEO.
During his tenure at Cygnus, Mr. Mackler developed an aggressive growth strategy successfully closing over a dozen acquisitions and launching more than two dozen products including trade shows, publications and a robust e-media division.
Prior to Cygnus, Mr. Mackler was President of Reed Exhibition Companies, North America, where he was credited with successfully integrating several substantial acquisitions; launching new events and accelerating the company’s leadership position.

Before joining Reed, Mr. Mackler was CEO of CMC, a privately-held trade show company, where Mr. Mackler forged collaborative joint-ventures with publishers and is credited with expanding the company overseas into Latin and South America. He was one of the first in the industry to develop strategic joint-ventures with other trade show organizers. CMC was sold to a private-equity firm in 1995.

Mr. Mackler has been active in various industry associations. He was a founding member of SISO and served on its Board for over six years. He served on the Board of the New York Area Chapter of IAEM and as its Chairman. He is often asked to share his insights at industry meetings and has been profiled and quoted in Business Marketing, EXPO Magazine, Folio Magazine, Folio First Day, Min’s B2B, B2B Magazine, Trade Show Executive and Tradeshow Week.
