David Nussbaum is the CEO of Sundance Business Enterprises, New York, a company formed by Nussbaum with ABRY Partners LLC, a media and information focused private equity fund based in Boston. ABRY has completed over $18 billion of leveraged investment transactions across the media and business services sectors since it’s founding in 1989.
ABRY has committed $100 million of equity capital to this venture. Sundance/ABRY plans to identify and invest in business-to-business media, services, and information companies, targeting companies with strong brands, high quality products and a clear path for growth.
Prior to the launch of Sundance Business Enterprises, Nussbaum was the CEO of Penton Media Inc., a leading $200 million diversified business media company focused on the lifestyle, IT and engineering marketplaces. Nussbaum was CEO of Penton, then a publicly listed company, from June 2004 through the company’s sale to Wasserstein’s Prism Business Media in February of 2007.
Prior to his CEO’s role, Nussbaum was the Executive Vice President of Penton. As EVP, Nussbaum led the acquisition of, and management, of businesses including New Hope Natural Media, Duke Communications and Mecklermedia.
