Daily tips, newsletters, RSS, blogs, and community building sites will be examined along with the resource allocation needed to develop an effective campaign. Additionally, other methods for extending reach will be discussed - face-to-face meetings with customers/attendees, print ads, etc. Join us for a lively discussion about what really works, and what is simply hype.
Moderator Britton Jones, President & CEO of Business Journals Inc.; Panelists include Skip Farber, CEO, World Shoe Association; Frank Anton, CEO, Hanley Wood; Kerry Smith, President, Red 7 Media; George Jage, President, SFG Group, LLC, producers of the World Tea Expo.

Building a Profitable Media Business with Other People's Money
There are many variations but the basic deal typically looks something like this: The financial guys give you $100 million and promise you 15% of the upside when the business sells in 3-5 years. Fetch $200 million and you net a cool $15 million for your efforts. This session delves into exactly what it takes to come out the other end right side up - and many don't. What do you look for in an initial "platform?" What are the key strategies for "value creation?" Launches vs. acquisitions? Bolt-ons or new markets? How critical is cost cutting? This session will give you an insider's look into a business model that is having a huge impact on the event market. You'll learn how savvy media execs build their companies for eventual resale and how you can apply similar practices to your own business.
Moderator Carl Pugh, President, Radius Events. Panelists are Andres Goodenough, President & CEO, Summit Business Media; Kerry Gumas, President & CEO, Questex Media; Tom Kemp, Managing Director, Veronis Suhler Stevenson; Don Pazour, President & CEO, Access Intelligence.

Recruiting and Retaining International Exhibitors
During this session, the panel will examine the best practices used to attract and keep international exhibitors to US shows. How have successful show organizers established an attractive environment? How have they structured their sales and operations departments to make sure the exhibition can respond quickly and positively to different languages and procedures? What strategies do they use to make sure their international exhibitor retention rate remains strong? Join this panel of experts as they discuss the ways in which they maximize opportunities in the international arena.
Moderator Cherif Moujabber, President, Creative Expos and Conferences. Speakers are Sha Kezhong, Deputy Director-General, Exhibition Department, Administration Office of CCPIT; Julian Lee, Executive Director, Taiwan Trade Center, New York; and Jochen Witt, Principal & CEO, JWC.
