Canon Communications Names Ron Wall as Senior Vice President, Publications
B2B publishing veteran brings strong M&A experience to Canon’s growth platform

Los Angeles, CA (August 16, 2007) – Canon Communications LLC announced today that it has named Ron Wall as Senior Vice President, Publications.  In this role he will be responsible for the Publications Division of Canon.  Mr. Wall has more than 25 years of B2B publishing experience and was a key player in the PRIMEDIA Business management team, where he helped expand the company from 12 trade magazines to more than 100 trade magazines, 40 trade shows and 200 books and price guides, with offices in 26 cities, including Hong Kong, Los Angeles, New York, and London.  Most recently, Mr. Wall has been executive vice president of sales & marketing for Ascend Media, LLC.

“Ron is one of the most experienced B2B managers in the industry today,” said Charles G. McCurdy, Chairman and CEO of Canon Communications.  “He has worked at the forefront of the growth of digital media alongside print media over the past 10 years.  He has overseen the successful launch of print and digital products over many years.  At the same time, he has extensive experience in acquiring and integrating B2B companies. He’s a great addition to the Canon management team as we continue to implement our growth strategy.”

Prior to co-founding Ascend Media in 2003, Mr. Wall spent 25 years with PRIMEDIA Business (formerly Intertec Publishing), where he helped grow the company from less than $20 million in revenue to over $300 million through organic growth and acquisitions.  At Ascend Media, he was instrumental in the March 2003 acquisitions of Atwood Publishing and GEM Communications, the 2004 acquisitions of SynerMed Communications and Exhibitor Visibility Worldwide, as well as the January 2005 acquisition of Medical World Communications, a publisher of 50 magazines and journals in the medical, healthcare, food, beverage and packaging industries.

"I'm thrilled to join Canon Communications,” said Mr. Wall.  “Canon has a strong reputation in the B2B world for producing powerful brands and having a great team of people.  Plus, it's great to partner once again with Charlie McCurdy, who was a mentor and a supporter of Intertec's great growth for over 15 years."

Mr. Wall graduated in 1975 from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism. His media career began in advertising sales, and he progressed through roles as Sales Manager, Publisher, Group Publisher, Vice President, COO and ultimately President of PRIMEDIA Business, a position he resigned to start Ascend Media. He has served on numerous industry boards and committees, including eight years on the Board of Directors of BPA International, the world’s leading media circulation audit company.
