The Robert L. Krakoff Awards Series Announced
Tradeshow Industry Achievement Awards Program highlights innovation and success
Chicago Ridge, IL [August 6, 2007] – The Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO) has announced the development of the Robert L. Krakoff Tradeshow Industry Achievement Awards, a program for show managers in the for-profit industry highlighting innovation and success.
Following the untimely passing of Robert L. Krakoff, president and CEO of Nielsen Business Media, whose extraordinary resume included heading up some of the most successful B2B media companies in the world, SISO leadership determined the best way to honor his memory was with with the development of an awards program.
The Robert L. Krakoff SISO Leadership Award will be awarded annually to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the face-to-face events industry throughout his/her career. The award was announced last week at the SISO Executive Conference and will be awarded at the 2008 CEO Summit.
“Bob Krakoff was a giant in our industry,” says Cherif Moujabber, founder of Creative Expos and Conferences, and award committee chairman. “The companies he headed were a training ground for hundreds of people in the industry and we’re pleased to have found a way to honor his memory.”
