At this important opening session on Wedesday, August 5, 2009 at the New York Marriott Marquis Times Square, Trade Show executives will experience case studies and participate in workshops that demonstrate the intrinsic value of Social Media and its relevance to Trade Shows.
Drawing on his 26 years of experience as a successful author, executive, industry speaker and media expert and on his current role as Chairman and CEO of Mzinga, a leading social software solution provider, renowned Web strategist Barry Libert will open the conference with a keynote address that analyzes how the different social media platforms affect the business landscape. His unique insight connects new media terminology and its application to the exhibition and meetings business interpreting how social technologies have revolutionized the way organizations build their brand, market their product, develop their people and communicate with exhibitors and attendees.
Mr. Libert’s Keynote will be followed by a panel discussion featuring show managers who have already harnessed the power of social media to augment their own shows. These experts will discuss the planning, implementation and measurement of their programs…what works and what doesn’t!
Finally, in a highly interactive roundtable workshop, Mr. Libert will help executives evaluate their social readiness. Participants will emerge from this workshop with a well-defined social strategy that includes specific action items to put into play upon return to their companies.
“It used to be that our events were not complete without a website. Now, Web 2.0 has raised the bar and no show can maximize its success without a clear, measured social media plan,” said SISO Executive Director Lew Shomer. “The SISO 2009 Executive Conference answers that challenge and is the key to helping show organizers understand and master the maze of social technologies.”
The conference will also address such timely issues as going green, strategies for a challenged economy and alternative revenue streams. To register for this event, visit www.siso.org or call 800.562.7469.
