The award goes to an organizer in the for-profit events industry who has shown innovation and success across several different categories. 2010 marks the third year this award has been given.
SISO members are invited to nominate outstanding industry leaders for this top award. To be considered for the award, a nominee must have:
- Significant years of experience in the industry
- A reputation of the highest ethical standards
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills
- Obvious respect from peers and employees (past & present)
- Been instrumental in developing the industry (this could include everything from creating a large organization to developing a paradigm shift within a market)
- Demonstrated a certain degree of innovation for the industry
- C-Level or similar title
- Demonstrated vision for his/her organization; thinks ‘out of the box’
- Demonstrated a commitment to the value of events
- Drives profits - a “deal-maker”
- Set the bar higher for those around him/her
- A proven career record for excellence
In short, this award should dictate that this recipient has reached the pinnacle of success within our industry.
Nominees may be active or retired individuals who have been part of member organizations of SISO and therefore the face-to-face events industry. Because only one award may be given per year, nominees who are unsuccessful in their first year of entry may be re-nominated in a subsequent year.

Judging will take place in March, and the winner will be notified thereafter. The decision of the judges is final. The award will be presented to the winner during the annual SISO CEO Summit in Austin, Texas on April 13. All entries become the property of SISO.
