Kerry Gumas

Kerry GumasKerry C. Gumas is a veteran hospitality, travel and tourism media industry executive with over thirty years' experience producing successful business events and media throughout the United States, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.  

Kerry led the formation and currently serves as President & Chief Executive Officer of Questex Media Group LLC, a leading international business information company and parent of Questex Hospitality+Travel group, which produces over 50 publications, websites, digital media and events for the industry worldwide.  These include the International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF) Berlin, Russia & CIS Hotel Investment Conference (RHIC), Central Asia Tourism & Investment Conference (CATHIC), the Hotel & Tourism Investment Conference Asia as well as numerous others serving hotel investment, management and operations professionals as well as other segments of the travel, tourism and leisure markets.  Among the company's media properties are Hotel Management, Travel Agent, Luxury Hotelier, Luxury Travel Advisor, the Informed Traveler and Meetings Review.  The company also owns and operates FiveStarAlliance.com a leading luxury travel online booking site and MeetingsIN.com, the online marketplace for MICE buyers and suppliers.  

Previously, Mr. Gumas held senior executive positions in the U.S., Europe and Asia at media and event companies including Reed Exhibitions, IDG and Advanstar.    He was also the founding Managing Director of Asian Aerospace, Pte. Ltd. where he led the formation and management of the Asia/Pacific region's largest air show, Asian Aerospace (Singapore Airshow) and the effort to fund, develop, construct and manage the original Changi International Exhibition Center in Singapore as part of an innovative industry-government joint-venture.   Earlier in his career, Mr. Gumas was Deputy Director of the China Trade Promotion Staff at the United States Department of Commerce.  He was a key member of the team that produced the first U.S. National Trade Exhibitions in Beijing and led over 20 U.S. trade missions throughout China. 

Mr. Gumas is a member of the Board and Executive Committee of the Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO); member of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE); past chairman of the American Business Media (ABM) Trade Show Council; past president and vice president of the Singapore Association of Convention and Exhibition Organizers and Suppliers (SACEOS); Executive Board member of the Direct Response Marketing Association (DRMA).   Mr. Gumas received his degree in Political Science and Business Administration from Widener University and currently serves on the University's School of Hospitality Management Advisory Board.
