SISO Update

The events industry will prevail and we know we'll meet together again, one day. In some places around the world we're already seeing that begin to happen as countries reopen and the new way of operating events is designed. We know there is an endless amount of information to digest and follow right now, and our new SISO Update series aims to distill and curate top resources to help you navigate and focus.

Moving Forward Updates

Slowly, but surely, we've seen countries (and states, in the USA) begin to reopen and relax restrictions. Of course, that doesn't mean the business of live events is back to business as usual or even at all in many of those locations. SISO remains committed to advocacy efforts to work with all levels of government ensuring our industry is not forgotten amongst these plans.

Take a look at these useful links, many of which are updated at least once daily (if not more!).

Coalition Updates

As shared in our first SISO Update, we are proud to join the Go LIVE Together initiative with over 80 founding partners and 4,000+ companies. Since announcing SISO's involvement, numerous organizations have come forward to support this growing coalition. That includes sizable investments by IAEE/EMBC, CEIR, ESCA, EDPA and a growing list of additional contributors.

GO LIVE Together's governance structure has been formulated and includes three components:

  • Operating Committee - responsible for driving financial support to the initiative's lobbying efforts, fundraising, building of the advocacy plan, and budget approval
  • Key Stakeholders Committee - provide financial or lobbying support for the initiative, review and provide input on advocacy plan and budget, and rallying of support as needed
  • Task Forces - three are already formed and cover safety, impact and legislation

Interested or know others who would like to contribute to funding Go LIVE Together's advocacy efforts? Please share the GoFundMe page and consider amplifying our reach by posting it on your social channels as well.

The Go LIVE Together leadership has already engaged Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, a leading DC-based lobbying firm to represent the initiative's advocacy efforts.
