Britton Jones
Britton Jones recently founded NXT Events Media Group, a company dedicated to producing experiences beyond expectations by creating higher levels of engagement and interaction than the traditional trade show model.
Prior to founding NXT Events Media Group, Britton served as President and CEO of Business Journals Inc. (BJI) where he led the development of a market-leading portfolio of 27 annual trade shows serving the fashion/retail markets. Britton was also one of the founders and CEO of LeftField Media, a consumer-facing events company focused on fan-based/ enthusiasts markets.
Throughout his career, Britton has given back to the events industry and worked for its betterment. He is the immediate past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) and serves on NYC & Co’s Trade Show Council. He was a founding member of the Javits Center’s Customer Advisory Board. Britton was Chairman of the Board of the Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO) from 2008 – 2010 and served on the SISO Board from 2001 – 2010. Britton also served three terms on the Board of American Business Media where he was twice the Chairman of its Trade Show Council.
In 2015, Britton was awarded the Trade Show News Network Industry Icon Award for industry innovation and service. In 2016, Britton also received the trade show industry’s top award, The Robert L. Krakoff Leadership Award which honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the events industry throughout their careers and who established themselves as innovators and dealmakers while maintaining high ethical standards.
