Peter W. Nathan is President of PWN Exhibicon International LLC, an exhibition and conference industry consulting firm providing broad based services to the for-profit and association communities. His specialties besides Mergers & Acquisitions include: Executive Consulting; Strategic Planning & Market Analysis; Outsourcing Analysis/Contract Negotiation; Financial/Operations Performance Reviews; Executive Search; Exhibition Management, Launches and Organization. Mr. Nathan has spent his entire career in the exhibition industry organizing over 500 trade and consumer shows and conferences in industries as diverse as machine tools, aerospace, computers, telecommunications, construction equipment, medical products, food & beverage products, electronics, plastics and packaging and oil, gas and energy. Mr. Nathan was instrumental in staging the first U.S. exhibitions in the former Soviet Union and China and has produced events in more than a dozen countries. In January of 2000, he organized a Medical/Healthcare Exhibition in Havana, Cuba, the first U.S. exhibition to be held in Cuba in over 40 years and then organized a second event there in September of 2002, the U.S. Food & Agribusiness Exhibition with nearly 300 American firms participating. He is currently producing U.S. events in Libya. In addition, he managed: the 1974 World’s Fair in Spokane, WA; the U.S. Government sponsored air and transportation exhibition (TRANSPO ’72) in Washington, DC; and the 1976 U.S. Bicentennial Exposition at Cape Canaveral. He also served as a senior manager at the Javits Convention Center in New York. Mr. Nathan served on the Board of Directors of the International Association For Exhibition Management (now International Association for Exhibitions & Events - IAEE); was a founding member and Director of the Board of the Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO); was a founding member and Director of the Major American Trade Show Organizers (MATSO); was a Director of the Board of the World Affairs Forum/Council (Stamford, CT Chapter); and serves on boards of directors and advisory boards of exhibition industry and seminar companies. He has contributed articles to industry publications, has written the chapter, “Globalizing the Exhibition Industry” for the IAEE Exhibition Handbook and has been a guest speaker and lecturer at numerous industry meetings, both in the U.S. and overseas. He has also qualified for the “Certified in Exhibition Management” (CEM) professional designation. In 1999, Mr. Nathan was awarded the King’s Glove Award by the New York Area Chapter of the IAEE as the “highest recognition of outstanding service toward the professional spirit and advancement of the exposition industry”. The award is on exhibit at the Javits Center. In 2004, he was the recipient of the Convention Industry Council’s (CIC) Hall of Leaders award, the industry’s highest honor for lifetime achievement, “who by virtue of his imagination, energy and leadership has helped to shape the meetings, conventions and exhibitions industry”. The award is displayed permanently at the Washington, DC Convention Center. Also, in 2004, he received IAEE’s most prestigious honor, the Pinnacle Award. TradeShow Week, an industry newsletter, named him one of the 100 Most Influential People in the exhibition industry. Previously, Mr. Nathan served as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps and was elected to the Westport, CT town legislature for four terms. He is an active member of the Westport YMCA Men’s Association.
