Having co-founded the business in 1991 under the name ITE Group, I returned as CEO in 2017 with a compelling vision of what this business could become. At that time, the company was decentralised and heavily focused on emerging markets. I launched a comprehensive transformation programme to future-proof the business, which saw the company radically evolve. We implemented a centralised operating model, shifted focus from emerging markets to a global landscape, and set about refining the event portfolio to only feature market-leading brands - a piece of work which continues to this day as we add new and exciting events to our portfolio. This led to the average revenue per event increasing more than eight-fold, and attention is now on expanding the company’s digital products. The Hyve of today has resilience, diversity and enormous scalability and I'm extremely proud of this transformation.
I am driven by creating value through my ambition to reimagine the events industry. My aim is to transform everyone’s expectations of what’s possible at events and, by digitising the traditional model, help customers to realise the game changing possibilities that Hyve events hold for businesses and beyond.
Transforming businesses is in my DNA and prior to re-joining Hyve, I was CEO of i2i Events Group, the event arm of Ascential plc, where I led the internationalisation and diversification of the business. It was at i2i that I first adopted a 'market leading event- only' approach that turned a declining business into one of consistently high organic growth. This was supplemented by high-profile acquisitions including Money20/20, which grew substantially during my time there.
