I started my media career at EMAP Publishing, then 30 years in trade shows. After spells at Blenheim and Tarsus, I launched my first exhibition business in 2002.

I went bust first time out. Brutal but priceless learning. I went on to launch, build and sell four exhibition companies, the last being Nineteen Events to Phoenix Equity Partners in 2018.

Since, Nineteen has grown extraordinarily fast through launches, acquisitions and organic. Today, more than 20 major-scale shows and digital platforms, powered by over 300 brilliant people across London, Boston, Hong Kong and Singapore HQs.

Culture is the phenomenal enabling force ⚡️

In 2024 we completed a Continuation Fund backed by Kline Hill Partners and Ares Landmark, with Phoenix continuing alongside us, taking Nineteen into its Season II.

In 2026, Alison Jackson became CEO of Nineteen, the right time for me to step back from day-to-day and get out of her way.

I remain as ever focused (obsessed) with Nineteen, wholly focused on culture, strategy and acquisitions.
